Does the tool hand me a ready-made white background?
It hands you a transparent PNG, not a background painted white. Most document-upload systems already accept that PNG as-is (they fill the transparency with white on their own); if yours doesn't, just compose it over a white background in any image editor before you submit it.
Does my photo ever leave my device?

Does the cutout work well with curly or loose hair?
Yes, the model handles tricky outlines like hair reasonably well. If a wisp of the old background survives around the edges, the manual adjustment brush cleans it up in seconds before you download.

There's no required color, but it helps to avoid wearing something the same color as whatever is behind you when the photo is taken — that's what trips up an automatic cutout the most. Even a little contrast between your clothing and the wall or backdrop gives a noticeably cleaner result.
Does this replace a professional passport or visa photo studio?
For most everyday uses — school enrollment, a badge, an online form — a well-lit photo shot at home and cut out here works fine.
